Clinton Street Penthouse

Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn

Photographer | Hanna Grankvist

A light-filled Brooklyn Heights penthouse infuses Western Colorado warmth into an urban sanctuary. Our design intervention layers a rich, tactile palette around a reimagined cast-iron woodstove, blending rustic landscapes with refined contemporary craftsmanship for a filmmaker and his family.

The woodstove is anchored by olive-green zellige tiles, a blackened steel mantel, and custom green-painted cabinetry for wood and media storage. Custom millwork carries through the home, from a dining banquette upholstered in rich leather and Western-inspired textiles to a marigold-yellow bunkbed with integrated storage in the kids' room. A compact oak desk tucked into a quiet corner serves as a nook for screenplay writing, while vintage bar cabinetry with mirrored backing and cane fronts lends mid-century ease. Personal artifacts, cowboy hats, worn boots, Pendleton blankets, and framed film posters, ground the refined interiors in authentic storytelling and laid-back comfort.
