Lake Lanier House
Gainsville, GEORGIASet on the shores of Lake Lanier, this waterfront retreat is crafted for a family of five as a cherished getaway built to become a primary residence; our design intervention draws on Appalachian mountain and lake vernacular to anchor the home natively in its North Georgia context.
Designed with future generations in mind, the estate includes a main house and an apartment above the garage, giving grown children and their families a place to return to on the water.
Tennessee fieldstone, cedar shingles, board-and-batten siding and standing seam copper roofs tie the architecture to its region. Inside, tall glass doors and windows open the rooms to the lake. Custom white shiplap millwork and built-in window daybeds with storage give the interiors their warmth.
